We are excited to announce the Call for Artists for our 4th Annual Horizontal Grandeur. Inspired by an essay of the same name by Minnesota poet Bill Holm (1943-2009), this fine art exhibition has grown each and every year. Last year we had 93 entries from 11 prairie states for the 50 exhibit spaces in our historic national award winning space. Because of the success, the call has opened up earlier this year. January 15th - April, 23rd, 2010 has been set as the open submission time. That will give our jury more time to judge the pieces and still allow the exhibit to be hung and the exhibit open by July 9th, 2010. The pieces must be inspired by the prairie and meet certain size requirements as outlined on our website. Wisconsin artists have been juried into past exhibits and we hope they will participate in 2010. Janesville mural project Janesville is looking for visual artists to render an illustrative painting for a downtown Janesville mural project. The project highlights women's history in Janesville. This project is being undertaken in part in memory of Judi Kneece, a vibrant Janesville community leader who died in 2009.
