Our volunteers contribute in a variety of ways and apply a wide range of skills. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that what you have to offer is exactly what we need. Here are some common tasks:
General Support and Operations
Administrative tasks: Answering phones, responding to emails, updating databases, managing inventory and supplies.
Data entry and record keeping: Maintaining accurate records related to donations, events, and outreach efforts.
Scheduling and organizing: Assisting with arranging meetings and ensuring participants have necessary materials.
Events and Exhibitions
Event coordination: Helping with planning and executing events like galas or exhibitions, including logistics like venue setup, managing RSVPs, and coordinating schedules.
Venue setup and tear-down: Setting up tables and chairs, decorating the space, arranging displays, and assisting with cleanup after the event.
Customer service: Greeting visitors, providing information, processing sales, and assisting with any issues that may arise.
Working at receptions: Serving refreshments and handling transactions.
Program Support
Teaching or assisting with classes: Helping children or adults learn artistic techniques or express themselves through different mediums.
Docent/Gallery guide: Leading tours, sharing knowledge about exhibitions and artifacts, and engaging visitors.
Arts and culture education: Mentoring individuals, running classes, and providing general support in educational settings.
Assisting with program delivery: Helping with specific initiatives like literacy programs or artistic therapy programs.
Fundraising and Community Engagement
Fundraising support: Assisting with tasks like grant writing, donor communication, and setting up online fundraising campaigns.
Community outreach: Engaging with the community, distributing information, and representing the organization at public events.
Requesting donations: Approaching individuals for sponsorships or donations on behalf of the non-profit.
Marketing and Communications
Social media and online content: Writing posts, monitoring event pages, and creating engaging content.
Publicity and promotions: Distributing posters and flyers, contacting participants, and assisting with press relations.
Volunteers can be involved in a wide array of activities, from hands-on creative work and audience engagement to administrative tasks and fundraising efforts. It is all important work and we need help to do it.
