We are excited to partner with Milwaukee’s Coalition of Photographic Arts (CoPA) by hosting Connected Frames, an exhibition of series photography.
Each photographer in this exhibition shows a series — three to five images that work together, not single pictures chosen on their own. The connection between them varies: some follow one subject over time, some show a clear before-and-after, some pick up the same idea across different subjects, and some just hang together visually, through color or composition or a repeated pattern.
Walking through the show, you're seeing how each photographer thinks across multiple images rather than what they can do in one. A series lets an idea develop — you watch it build, shift, or get reinforced frame to frame — so you come away with a sense of that photographer's eye that a single strong image wouldn't give you on its own.
About CoPA
The Coalition of Photographic Arts was founded in 2004 by a group of Milwaukee area photographers passionate about sharing their skills, experience and enthusiasm for the medium. Working with students, beginners, other professional photographers, ardent amateurs and artists, founders explored fine art photography from an aesthetic, technical and developmental perspective, which remains the foundation of CoPA’s mission.
Submission Information
CoPA is inviting its members to submit a series – seven to ten pieces in a cohesive body of work. Each series will be judged as a whole, and individual pieces will be juried into the exhibition based on their ability to convey the idea of the series. Artists whose work is chosen by the juror will have three to five pieces accepted into the exhibition. More information is available at copamilwaukee.com/connected-frames-2027-cfe/
