Afternoon of live storytelling, open mic, and fundraising to support the 2027 Annual Whitewater Storytelling Festival

The Whitewater Arts Alliance invites the community to gather for Tellabration!™, a celebration of a very precious art form: telling stories. The event takes place November 21, 2026 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center, 402 W Main St, in Whitewater.

Tellabration!™ is a worldwide celebration of storytelling, with events held in communities each year. Whitewater’s afternoon will feature a performance by a featured storyteller, followed by an open mic where audience members are invited to take the stage and share a story or two of their own.

Storytelling connects us, and “Tellabration!™ is a chance to listen, laugh, cry, and even try telling a story yourself! Whether you’re a seasoned teller or have never shared a story out loud, all are welcome!

Event highlights include:

  • A featured storyteller

  • Open mic: Sign up to share a story or two. Writers, authors, tellers, and comedians of all experience levels are welcome.

  • Art gallery: Browse the current exhibit at the Cultural Arts Center

  • Light refreshments: Enjoy snacks and beverages while you visit with fellow story lovers

All proceeds from the event will benefit the 2027 Annual Whitewater Storytelling Festival, helping the Arts Alliance bring more storytelling programming to the community. Beyond fundraising, organizers hope Tellabration!™ will strengthen the area’s storytelling community by giving local writers, authors, tellers, and comedians a welcoming stage and an audience.
